We woke up to another beautiful snowy morning in Aspen and lots more fresh now on the ground! We got the sleds out and did lots of sledding down the driveway at the house. It was really the perfect sledding area and we all had a blast! We then made a snowman! Snowman are hard to make when you have fresh powder snow but we were able to make one and he was perfect for the kids. GiGi had brought a snowman kit and it added the perfect touch since it had the eyes, mouth, buttons, a carrot nose, and hat! After building Frosty as Marlee called him, we loaded up and went dog sledding in Snowmass. Bear was skiing today in Snowmass and we hoped we might see him but we didn't. We ate lunch at the dog sledding place and then GiGi, Papa, Easton, Uncle Frank, and Marlee met their musher and dogs and hit the trails dog sledding. Karsyn was too little to go so her and I stayed and played with the dogs that were still there while they were gone. When they returned Marlee was actually asleep. She had fallen asleep on the last little bit of the ride! The musher said she took that as a compliment because that meant the ride must have been relaxing and smooth! The ride was almost two hours, stopping out in the country for some hot chocolate and cookies. Everyone really enjoyed the dog sledding and Marlee loved helping the musher feed and water the dogs once they all returned! It was really snowing hard and lots and we actually got stuck on our way down the mountain, which was an adventure but luckily someone helped us and we safely were back on the road in about an hour. When we got home, Bear was back from skiing and everyone was tired! We ate dinner at home and read Christmas stories in front of the fireplace before bed. An adventurous day in the snow and memorable one for sure!
