Marlee had a fantastic Friday today at preschool! She colored a beautiful picture about the land, water, and animals that God gave us here on Earth and brought home her projects that she learned with the letter Aa. We are so proud of her for having another great week at school!

First Trip to the Library
Marlee has been talking about going to the library lately so I decided it was time to take her to the public library! I think Dora went to the library and got library books therefore Marlee wanted to do the same. We invited Aunt Bonny and Mary Kate along on our journey. We had a picnic at the library before going in and then made our way into the exciting land of the library. The girls played games on the computers first, then did puzzles, colored a picture, picked out a DVD to check out, and then read books before deciding which book they wanted to check out and take home. Marlee chose Diego's Halloween DVD and Eric Carle's The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse book to check out. Since we have been home, Marlee has read her library book several times and is now able to pretty much read it herself since it is a fun and easy read. We are looking forward to returning our items next week and checking out more. :)

Our Gator Girl at GATORAMA
This afternoon GiGi and I took Marlee and Easton to Gatorama in Palmdale to hatch baby alligators! We were all excited to do this as it was our going to be our first time. We arrived early and were able to hatch our baby alligators earlier than our expected appointment time. Marlee and Easton listened to the man give directions and watched as him hatch an alligator and then it was our time. Luckily, there were not many people there so a very nice lady that worked at Gatorama was able to help the kids out so GiGi and I could take pictures. Easton went first as Marlee watched and he loved it. The kids had to wear gloves which were way too big on them but they did their best to maneuver their fingers in those gloves anyways. Marlee was excited to get pink gloves! As Easton's alligator hatched, he decided to name him "Cutie" and did not want to put him down. He was so excited. Marlee loved watching her alligator hatch but was unsure about holding it at first. She finally decided it was neat to hold it and enjoyed holding "Baby" once she was completely out of her shell. Neat fact...when alligators are hatched they have no teeth :) Once the alligators were all hatched they carried them over to a tub of water where they released them. It was cute to watch them be able to swim right away. We watched them swim for a while and then the kids received their certificate. This is an amazing experience and one we hope to do again next year.
After hatching the alligators, we walked along the boardwalk and saw lots of HUGE alligators swimming in the ponds and then lots of smaller (about 2 feet long) alligators and crocodiles in their pens. They had other animals there as well that the kids enjoyed looking at...panthers, peacocks, a skunk, monkey, parrots, and tortoises. At the end was the HUGE alligator named GOLIATH!
After seeing all the animals, we were able to watch them feed the gators in the pond and then we were all able to hold one of the smaller alligators named Larry. :) Marlee was so brave and held him herself!
Before we left, GiGi let Easton and Marlee pick out a treat from the gift shop and Marlee picked out a pack of chocolate alligators! :) We definitely had a fun afternoon and know that "Baby" and "Cutie" are enjoying their lives swimming around.
Trying to figure out the gloves :)
Day 5 of Preschool
Marlee was feeling much better and was very excited to go to preschool today! They are talking about families this week and were asked to bring in an 8 x 10 picture of their family. Marlee was excited to take her picture to school to show along with her dollar that Daddy gave her for chapel today! She had a great day and was very happy to show me her work that she did at school!
Her work...the bottom picture she made with her fingers...the blue is Daddy, red is Mommy with the green fingerprint on my belly for the baby and the purple one is her. :) Her work is proudly hanging in her playroom!

Day 4 of Preschool...SICK :(
Today would have been Marlee's 4th day of preschool but she stayed home due to being sick. With school comes the nasty ole' germs and she has a very runny nose and is running a slight fever. We are hoping a day at home staying in her pajamas, resting and doing a little baking with Mommy will be just the cure to heal her right up!

Lowry Park Zoo
Marlee (who remembers everything) has been asking lately to go back to the zoo and feed the giraffe like she did a long time ago. Since she had had a great first week of school, I decided a zoo trip was a perfect idea to reward our girl for being so good in school. We were so excited to have GiGi join us since Daddy was out of town and hit the road bright and early. We made a few stops before the zoo and then finally arrived at Lowry Park with a very excited little girl! The park looked crowded from the parking lot but thankfully was not crowded at all inside. We first checked out the monkeys, then went to the kiddie section where Marlee rode some rides, pet and brushed goats, and her favorite...rode a horse! Marlee loves to ride horses and is not scared to do it at all. She will hop right on, put on her helmet, and ride all day if we would let her. It truly is what she loves to do! After riding, Lilly the horse, we rode a few more rides but sadly not the roller coaster. She was only 35 inches and she had to be 36 inches...she was very sad. She really loves rides as well. We then made our way to the giraffes and she was so excited to hand the zoo keeper her money and get her salad (lettuce) to feed the giraffe. She was so precious feeding Roscoe the giraffe and enjoyed the whole 2 minutes she got with him. After feeding the giraffes we checked out the elephants, rhinos, and birds before making our way back to the icee place and splash park. It was very HOT and Marlee truly enjoyed her icee. After splashing for a while and cooling off we decided it was time to go. I love Lowry Park Zoo and wished it was closer because Marlee (our animal loving girl) has the best time every time we come. We are planning to bring Daddy back sometime soon. :)
Buying a $3.00 bottle of water because it was so HOT!!!
