Afternoon at the Lake with Cousins

After Heagan's birthday party and a nap in the car we went to the lake with Aunt Bonny, Uncle Jared, Brooker, MK, Aunt Leslie, Uncle Bo, Rylie, and Baxlee. Daddy was planting trees so he was unable to go with us. :( Lake June is very clear and shallow so the kids could walk way out and still touch and play. Marlee loved to swim so she had a blast showing off her new underwater swim moves. I tried to get her to go on the SeaDoo with me but she did not want any part of that however she did want to go tubing. YAY! Rylie, Marlee, and I all went tubing together...this was Marlee's first time ever tubing and she loved it! She liked hitting the bumps best and just laughed when she would bounce! What a fun afternoon we all had...a true lake day of fun and sun!

TuTu Cute

Heagan is tutu cute and two years old and we celebrated with her this morning. Her mommy did the best job planning her party. When we arrived, Marlee was given a tutu to wear, a boa, fairy wings, and a bag to put goodies in. After getting dressed up in her tutu and goodies, we moved to different stations where she could get her hair done and sprayed with glitter, get her nails polished, make a crown, make a wand, pick out a pair of high heels to wear, and put makeup on. The party was an all girls party and the girls were all having a blast!!! I have to admit this party was so me as well that I was just as in to it as the little girls were. The food table was delcioius with precious tutu cupckaes, fruit, whipped cream, candy, and doughnuts. Yummy!!! Heagan was so precious in her pink tutu outfit!!! It was such a fun party and Marlee has had the best time playing with all her goodies that she got at the party ever since we got home. She loves her new high heels especially!!!

Happy Birthday Hunter and Hayden

We were out of town when Hunter and Hayden had their birthday party so we celebrated their birthdays with them this morning. Marlee loved taking them their presents and enjoyed watching them open them as well. Hayden and Marlee were so cute walking around the house holding hands and playing together. After we celebrated with the boys, we all went swimming at the big pool in the Country Club. We enjoyed having Hunter, Hayden, Brooker, MK, Kacee, Choloe, Lauren, Maddie,Nolan, Laura, Aunt Bonny, Cristy, Mammy, and Mandy all swim with us as well. Fun times and sweet memories!!!

Brannan and Auburn came down this morning for a visit and Marlee loved having them here. She thinks that Auburn is just too cute and loved holding her. Marlee shared her toys with Auburn and enjoyed showing her her tricks!

Island Vacation

Bear, Marlee, and I just arrived back home from a trip to the Island (Gasparilla Island). We went down on Saturday and it started raining on us as we unloaded the boat and headed to the island. We knew that there was a tropical storm named Debby out in the Gulf but we were hoping that she would stay far away so we could enjoy some island time. Unfortunately, she did not stay away. It rained pretty much the whole day on Saturday. We decided to brave the rain and go down to the beach and just play in the rain. The waves were very big at the beach and the rip currents were so strong that we were afraid to let Marlee down to play in the water. After playing in the rain for a bit, we just hung out in the house. We put puzzles together, looked at Pepa's sharks teeth, and read lots of books. We were hopeful that Sunday we would wake up to beautiful sunny skies. Sunday morning, we woke up to lots of rain. We spent the morning in the house and on the porch waiting for the skies to clear. Around lunch time, it stopped raining and we really needed to get out of the house, so we decided to take the boat over to the Waterside Grill for lunch. After we got out in the boat, we realized that we probably had not made the best decision. The waters were rough and we were the only boat out. Oh well, we were on a mission to get to the restaurant. We were soaked but had a nice lunch and it was time to brave the rain and head back to the Island house. Marlee was so good about traveling in the rough waters and the rain, she just went with the flow. I was so proud of her, because we were getting drenched! We arrived at the dock to find that most of the end of the dock was gone! The tide was up so high and the water was so rough that lots of the boards had come loose and were just floating out in the water. We had to tie the boat up next to the shore at the dock. After a long afternoon nap, we worked on making Marlee a sign out of sharks teeth and walked down to the beach. The waves were so huge and the water was up in the dunes. It was defintely a sight to see. Marlee could not understand why we wouldn't let her down to play in the water. She thought the waves looked fun! We fixed dinner, steaks on the grill and were enjoying a nice dinner when all of a sudden, a bad strom came through. The wind was so strong that the whole house was shaking...it sounded like a train was coming through the house. We realized it was a tornado and ran quickly to the bathroom for safety. As we were taking cover in the bathroom, we lost power. :( After the bad strom passed we lit candles and hoped the power would come back on. No such luck, we went to bed very hot. It was raining so hard that we could not open any windows to let air in so we were all miserable. Bear and I did not sleep much at all and woke up the next morning to evaulate the damage of the tornado. The porch lost a lot of the screens, some of the siding came off of the house, and the satelite was messed up but thats about all we could tell. We saw lots of trees down on the island and other damage as well to houses near by. We really wanted to stay at the Island until Wednesday like we had planned but the weather was not getting any better and the power company could not say when the power was going to be put back on. So we cleaned as best we could with no water or power and left the Island. It poured on us as we were leaving and at the marina the docks were so underwater that when bear got out of the boat on to the dock, it was up to his knees. Even though the weather was not our friend this Island trip and we didnt even get to wear our bathing suits one time, we still made memories and loved being together at the Island. We will go back and hopefully will have sunny skies!!!
