Day 2 - Maine

Day 2- Kennebunkport, ME and Bar Harbor, ME
We woke up this morning to a beautiful view of the Maine coastline.  Our resort, The Arundel Inn provided a lovely breakfast for us in their dining area and it was delicious!  They had fresh fruit, all kinds of danish, yogurt, homemade granola, and french toast drizzled with raspberry sauce and sausage.  They did not have any hair chairs so Marlee sat in a booster seat and loved it!  There were a few other guests in the dining room having breakfast with us,and they just adored Marlee in her precious lobster/crab dress.
After breakfast, we toured our resort and let Marlee just run around and play in their beautiful green grass!  Marlee loved the cool weather that Maine had to offer. :)
We checked out of our resort and drove right down the road to the Bush Compound.  Unfortunately, fog had rolled in and you could hardly see the compound.  We did stop and see the anchor that the town of Kennebunkport donated to the Bush's in appreciation for all they had done for the town.  Mar thought it was really neat!
HBO was in the process of filming a documentary on President Bush, so they had this huge tent set up where they were filming.  We are looking forward to watching the documentary!
We headed into town to do some shopping since most of the stores were closed when we went into town last night.  GiGi, Mar, and I could have shopped in these stores for days.  They are just precious little shops with so many cute things!!!
After some shopping, we left Kennebunkport and headed to Wisscaset for lunch!  There was a special restaurant called, Red's Eats that has the BEST lobster roll in Maine!  GiGi had been there before several times and solidified that it definitely does have the best lobster roll!  It is just a small little restaurant that only has a few tables outside for you to eat at, but people wait in line for hours at a time to get their amazing food.  While traveling to Wiscasset, Mar got a good nap.  She was tired from doing all that shopping! We got to Red's Eats about 2 pm so we missed the lunch crowd and only had to wait in line about 45 minutes!  It is worth every minute you wait, trust me!  Marlee thought they had pretty good french fries too!  She was so good waiting with GiGi and I...she just played and waved to people!
Marlee and GiGi (way at the end) waiting in the long line!!!
While waiting for our food, a big and friendly dog came up and Marlee made friends with him right away.  Come to find out, this dog's name was BEAR and he was a famous dog.  He starred in the movie, The Twelve Dogs of Christmas.  Marlee loved petting him and we can't wait to watch the movie and see him again!
It was very cold outside and we were freezing, so we had a picnic in the car with our lobster rolls!
We left Wisscaset, and made our way to Bar Harbor.  We enjoyed a beautiful ride along the coast!
We stayed at the Harborside Hotel and Marina and our room was very nice.  It was on the second floor so Mar loved pushing the buttons on the elevator and running down the long hall to our room.  We had a harbor balcony view and we enjoyed watching the boats from our balcony.

After a nap in the room, we headed out to explore Bar Harbor!  They have lots of shops and we enjoyed looking in them until it started raining!  Once the rain started, we decided it was time to find a dry place for dinner.
We went to Stewman's Downtown for dinner. They had a fire burning in their fireplace and we had the best waiter. The restaurant was not crowded at all so Marlee was allowed to walk around by our table while waiting for our food which was a good thing because she gets tired of sitting in the high chair pretty quickly. Dinner was delicious! We ordered a mini lobster roll for Marlee off of the kids menu basically because we thought it sounded so cute! She did not eat it but she did eat some of her sweet potato fries and apples! GiGi and I split a yummy salad and some lobster bisque. It was yummy!
Time for bed now so we are all rested and ready to explore more of Bar Harbor tomorrow!!!  We had a fabulous second day in Maine and feel so blessed to be able to spend this time together!
