Day 4 - Maine

Day 4- Bar Harbor, ME and Camden, ME
We woke up after a great nights sleep at our resort in Bar Harbor and packed up our stuff to head to Camden, ME.  We really enjoyed our stay at Harborside Marina and Resort.
We had heard that Jordan's Restaurant had the best blueberry pancakes and grilled blueberry muffins in town so we had breakfast there before hitting the road.  They were delicious and Marlee loved the homemade blueberry sauce and whipped cream that came with them. :)

After breakfast, we left Bar Harbor and drove down Route 1 along the coast.  The sights were beautiful!
There are lots of lobster pounds along the road where they cook lobster outside and serve it to you on a paper plate with corn and potatoes.  There was one in particular that was very cute, so we stopped and took a few pictures at it.
While driving down the road, we were all just talking when I looked at a bicyclist pedaling along side of the road and I said, Mom turn around that was Mason Gravely!  Mason is a young man from Frostproof that is raising money for Gospel House Ministries (a ministry that is building homes in Africa for children) and the way he raised money was by people sponsoring him as he rode his bike from Frostproof to Bar Harbor, ME.  He was on Day 33 of his trip and was almost finished. I knew before we left that he was in Maine but I never thought we would see him!  We were shocked!  When we turned our car around and went back and caught him on his bike he couldn't believe his eyes either.  It was definitely a moment that we will cherish.  Mason is a great Christian guy and we are so proud of him.  Marlee was napping in the car so she missed seeing Mason.
After about an hour drive, we made it Camden, ME.  Camden is a precious town right on the harbor.  We stayed at the Grand Harbor Inn, which was our favorite resort of all.  We had the most amazing view of the harbor and our room was fabulous.  Marlee loved the fireplace, the balcony, and the big jacuzzi tub.  We loved our room so much that we didn't even want to leave it.
Marlee loved waving at the sailboats as they went by :)
After enjoying our room for a bit, we hit the streets of Camden.  We found a pretty park and let Marlee run around in it for a while.  She loved it!
After playing at the park, we hit the cute downtown shops.  Marlee found a shopping cart just her size at one of the stores and did some shopping of her own!
We had fun visiting the shops in Camden and came across a cute bakery that had whoppie pies.  Whoppie pies are a big deal in Maine and we had not had one, so we bought one.  We picked out a chocolate and peanut butter whoppie pie.  We headed back to our resort to enjoy our whoppie pie with a cup of coffee while watching the boats on our balcony.
After a nap, we got dressed for dinner.  We were excited to be going to eat at The Waterfront restaurant right on the harbor!
We sat outside at the restaurant and enjoyed the views for a bit, but I was freezing!  We asked if we could move our stuff and go inside because it was too cold out there for this Florida girl!  I said before we left for this trip that I was going to eat lobster every day in Maine and I had to uphold that, so tonight I had lobster pasta!  It was delicious and Marlee even enjoyed some of the noodles with me.  GiGi decided she needed some "Beef" so she got steak tonight!  It was all very tasty.
After dinner, we walked back to our resort and let Marlee take a bubble bath in the jacuzzi.  She loved it!
Time for bed!  We had a fun day in Camden today!  Tomorrow we will be heading to
Portland, ME!!!
