Daddy has gone to Kentucky to work at his hunting camp for a few days and this evening it was raining outside so Marlee said, "Mommy can we cook together" so that we did! We made red velvet cupcakes! I had a cupcake kit and she was so excited to sit on the counter and help me make them. She helped me measure, stir, put the liners in the pan, listen for the timer, smell them to make sure they were done, make the icing, ice the cupcakes and finally eat one! She even used the hand mixer for the first time tonight and did a really good job at keeping it down in the bowl. She licked a lot of batter and icing while we were making them but that is the fun part! We invited Mrs. Laura over to have a cupcake and girl time with us and Marlee was so excited to show off her cupcakes. They were delicious and a fun Mommy-Daughter activity!
