We woke up to a beautiful Saturday morning and were excited to go to a famous breakfast restaurant in Chicago called, Yolk! We heard wonderful things about their breakfast entrees and were excited to try them. The Miami Hurricanes were in town playing Notre Dame so there were lots of Miami fans eating and Marlee and I were so proudly sporting our orange and blue today, so we showed some Gator pride even in Chicago! The red velvet french toast I had for breakfast was delicious and Marlee enjoyed the strawberries and whipped cream that came with it! GiGi had the bananas foster crepes and they were yummy as well. We had a great breakfast and gladly walked many blocks afterwards!!
Marlee enjoyed playing with her Halloween stickers at breakfast as well. She loves stickers!
We decided in order to learn a lot about the city we needed to take the double decker tour bus around the city. We knew it was be a bit chilly on the top of the bus but we had our coats on and we were prepared to brave the cold in order to see all of Chicago! Marlee loved riding on the top of the bus and the tour guides really told us a lot about Chicago that we didn't know.
This was the church where the wedding took place in the movie, My Best Friend's Wedding
On the tour we got to see where Oprah lives when she is in Chicago and all other sorts of fun facts :) Marlee was riding along so well in my lap and the sunshine was beaming down on her and she fell fast asleep.
We got off on the stop, Willis Tower, and waited in line for almost two hours to go to the top floor skydeck ledge. The wait was very long but we were glad that we got to the see the city from the tallest building in the city. We were all so brave and went out on the see-through ledges and it was awesome to look straight down from very high.
We hopped back on the double decker bus and toured the city more before getting off at Millennium Park to go and see "The Bean".
Marlee loved chasing the pigeons at the park!
We hopped back on the bus and toured some more before jumping off to head back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We really enjoyed our walks and often stopped to take pictures :)
We ate dinner at Stephanie Izard's (winner of Top Chef) restaurant called, Girl & The Goat. We were intrigued to try her weird ;) dishes and I can honestly say that I have now tried goat. YUCK...I did not like it. We had to try it though since that is her signature dish. The other food we had was very good though thank goodness! :)
We ate our meal on this couch and it was very nice actually because Marlee was able to move around and enjoyed not being confined to the high chair!
After dinner, we did a little shopping and then went to Heaven on Seven and all shared a piece of their famous deep dish pecan pie! :)
Another fun day in Chicago making lots of memories!!!
Love Marlee's cute Gator outfit and your cute orange striped dress...Great minds think alike :)
