A few weeks ago, Marlee and Daddy began the construction of her derby car for the Awana Grand Prix! She decided after much thought to make her car into a Butterfinger car since she loves the Butterfinger candy bar. Marlee and Daddy worked long and hard on painting the car, making sure it had just the right amount of weight on it and decorating it. This was Marlee's first Derby so we did not know what to expect. Once we arrived and got her car checked in, the fun began! Marlee was so excited when it was he turn to race! She got to race many times and won 5 races! She had a big cheering section there cheering her on with lots of cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course us! She made it to the final round and in the trophy round, she won 3rd place among 13 other cars! It was an exciting night cheering her car on and lots of fun! We are already looking forward to next year's derby!
