Visiting Grandpa in the hospital

This morning we had Big Granny's funeral.  Marlee  and Easton stayed with Kaleigh during the funeral but attened the luncheon and Karsyn stayed with me at the funeral.  We went to the cemetery after the luncheon and I had talked with Marlee about Big Granny going to Heaven but we were going to the cemetery to see where she was buried.  When we arrived, there were flowers all by her grave and Marlee said, "This is Heaven, It's Beautiful Mommy"!  Marlee loved Big Granny so much like I did!  After a nap at GiGi's, we made our way to Lakeland to visit Grandpa since he was still in the hospital.  Daddy (Bear) is really sick with the flu so the girls and I went over with GiGi and Papa while Daddy was at home resting.  Grandpa was so excited to see us and was doing really good at this point.  He loved watching Marlee play around in his room and he held Karsyn.  Sadly, after this evening with Grandpa, his health went down hill and on January 3rd he passed away.  We were so very sad, after losing my grandma on my mom's side and now my grandpa on my Dad's side, it was a lot to handle.  Grandpa was such a special man, he was so hard and stern when it came to his business, Bagwell Lumber, but with his grandkids and great-grandkids at home, he was so jolly and fun!  Marlee loved going to see him and enjoyed eating candy corn or chocolate candy with him.  He always shared with her and watched her dance and play around from his recliner.  He and I had a very special bond too, on each of our birthdays we would give eachother a bunch of random gag gifts.  We worked hard each birthday to out-do the other one.  I'll never forget one year, I gave him an old baseball and signed it with from Babe Ruth and wrote, "It was good playing in the big league with you"!  This was something just he and I did together and I have so many funny memories of this.  I know my Grandpa suffered a long time with his health but was so tough and brave you never would have known it.  He was 82 when he passed away and left a legacy for sure.  We will miss Grandpa so much and I am so thankful he was able to meet Karsyn before passing away.  We love you Grandpa!
